bio update 4/6/26- Walk into a room where Beluga is waiting and you will feel it immediately: this dog has decided you are the most important person in the world. He's happiest when he's close to his people, playing, getting pets, or simply hanging around in your orbit. This is a smart boy, treat-motivated, already sitting on cue, and genuinely eager to get it right. On walks, his nose leads the way like a tiny detective on a very important case; he's still polishing his leash manners, but give him a calm moment to reset and he settles right in. He loves other dogs, plays nicely with canine housemates, and greets unfamiliar dogs with curiosity rather than attitude. A companion dog would make his world. Crate-trained, house-trained, great in the car, and endlessly game for whatever comes next. Beluga is ready to be someone's whole adventure. foster bio 3/12/26- Beluga is settling into foster life beautifully and showing everyone what a fun, affectionate companion he is! This happy guy absolutely loves being around people. Whether he’s playing, getting pets, or simply hanging out nearby, Beluga is happiest when he’s with his humans. When he gets excited he can be a little mouthy, but he’s learning quickly and does great when redirected to one of his favorite toys. Beluga is also a big fan of other dogs. He loves playing with the resident dog in his foster home and is always eager for a game. On walks he shows no aggression toward other dogs—he’s mostly curious and often hopes they’ll be his next playmate. Because of his friendly nature, he’d likely enjoy a home with a canine companion. After his first day of settling in, Beluga has had no accidents in the house and appears to be potty trained. He hasn’t had direct interactions with cats yet, but when he has seen them on walks he’s simply been curious rather than reactive. Beluga enjoys getting out for walks and is a dedicated explorer, usually with his nose to the ground sniffing everything along the way. He’s still working on his leash manners and can pull when he gets excited, but he does much better when things are calm and he’s focusing on his stroll. Toys are another favorite of Beluga’s. He loves playing with them and will happily entertain himself when he has a good toy to chew on. At bedtime, Beluga does well in his crate. He may whine for a moment when first settling in, but he quickly relaxes and sleeps soundly through the night until his people wake up. This smart boy has already learned how to sit and is very motivated by treats, which will make continuing his training lots of fun. He’s also a great passenger and loves riding in the car. With his affectionate personality, playful spirit, and eagerness to learn, Beluga is ready to bring joy, adventure, and plenty of tail wags to his forever home.
